My name is Benjamin Davenport and I’m currently a Junior at Western Washington University.  After I complete my Bachelor of Arts degree in Music, I intend to move to either St. Louis or Philadelphia to attend either Covenant or Westminster Theological Seminary for an MDiv.  After that, it’s to wherever God leads.

I have a beautiful fiancee named Angela whose heart is for the glory of Christ, so naturally she pulls me in that direction.  We’re getting married on July 10th this coming summer, so as you can imagine, I’m pretty excited!  My cousin Joshua and I have a great friendship and accountability relationship.  We often have great conversations and shape each other by asking all sorts of good questions about theology that we can’t answer, but try to anyway.

I try to live my life based on the authority of God as displayed in the Scriptures interpreted in their correct context.  Outside of the Bible, my major influences are John Piper, Pete Williamson, Mark Driscoll, Justin Taylor, Oswald Chambers, John Calvin, A.W. Tozer, C.S. Lewis, and others.

Just as a note, the reason “Sola Fide” isn’t in the subtitle of my blog is because there wasn’t enough room. And I prefer to emphasize grace, since it’s grace THROUGH faith and not the other way around.
